On the first Monday of each month at 1pm, 2MBS Fine Music’s Fine Afternoons series features a special one hour program highlighting exclusively Australian composers and performers: “100% Australian Made” with host Julie Simonds.
For many years Julie has been a regular presenter on Fine Music, a volunteer-run classical radio station in Sydney, and regularly features Australian composers in her playlists.
In 2024 she launched 100% Australian Made, where she is joined by an Australian composer or performer. Together they explore the background to a selection of their compositions or recordings.
Mark was honoured to be a guest soon after the launch, joining a guest list of Australia’s best from Matthew Hindson and Elena Kats-Chernin, to Miriam Hyde and Daniel Rojas, to name just a few.
2026 is starting off with a stellar list of musical hosts:
Ronan Apcar (Jan 5th)
Deborah Cheetham Fraillon
Dulcie Holland voiced by Rita Crews & Jeanell Carrigan
100 years of Flute voiced by Laura & Stephanie
Maria Lopes
Graeme Koehne
Andrei Hadap
Andrew Blanch
Jack Symonds
Anne Keats publishing
Tamara-Anna Cislowska
John Peterson
and Julie is also planing to follow up episodes with past guests.
You can catch up and stream all the recent programs on 2MBS Fine Music Sydney's Website, or listen live every Monday at 1pm.
