A Lovely Lyricism - Symphonic Suites 1 & 2 Album Review

Classical Candor recently reviewed McEncroe's new album SYMPHONIC SUITES 1 & 2, finding in the works reminders of Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. John J. Puccio writes "The suites may also remind some listeners of film music (here, for example, Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky comes to mind), and perhaps even a score for an Arthurian epic." "There's a lovely lyricism to the slower segments... The orchestration is often lush and romantic. The Janácek Philharmonic do a splendid job articulating the various degrees of ardour and periodically feverish passion the score requires." Read the full review here. Mark John McEncroe’s Symphonic Suites 1 & 2 — A Medieval Saga was released through Parma Recordings and Navona Records on August 11th. It's available at Amazon, iTunes, Naxos Direct and ArkivMusic, and streaming on Spotify.
